Just wanted to thank all of you who attended our meeting at Peridia on Thursday to hear Mr. Mattie Appice give us the rundown on the Port of Manatee.  A special thank you to Larry Bustle, who was also celebrating his re-election to the Board of County Commissioners.  To Betsy Benac, and our own Vanessa Baugh, who will be taking their places on the Commission at the end of this month. Congratulations to all of our Republican candidates who are returning to their offices to represent us. Thanks to John Chappie and Carol Whitmore who always try to make our meetings every month.  Also, thanks to our members for re-electing our Board Members to another two-year term to bring to you some good programs and to be the best representatives we can be of the Republican Party.  

Being chartered by the RPOF, we have some rules to follow and we try our best to adhere to them as well as to our own by-laws.  I do think after this election that we might have to re-think some of those rules as they tend to hold us down a bit.  We have some great clubs in Manatee County and we will still have the cooperative efforts we had before.  We would certainly like to see the REC expand a bit and have a headquarters in East County.  Some folks in Ellenton and Parrish don't even know we exist.  We need more inclusion.  Our club has grown quite a bit and we have drawn in some new members from that area.  East County is still growing fast and there is so much opportunity to get the word out to all.  We will continue to meet at Peridia on the second Thursday each month since they treat us all so well. 

Watch for the notice of our Christmas Brunch on 13 Dec.  It's our annual Toys for Tots function.  We also want to welcome our newest Board Member, Thomas Dailey, who will be our new Secretary.  So glad to have him aboard.  Again, thank you all for having faith in our board to continue to make this one of the great organizations in Manatee County.
