Michelle's Thanks to USA

Michelle taking Bo out to his private jet plane to Marths's Vineyard
THANK YOU AMERICA!
Dear American Taxpayer, for only the second time in my adult life, I am not ashamed of my country. I want to thank the hard working American people for paying $242 thousand dollars for my vacation in Spain.
My daughter Sasha, several long-time family friends, my personal staff and various guests had a wonderful time. Honestly, you just haven't lived until you have stayed in a $2,500.00 per night private 3-story villa at a 5-Star luxury hotel.
Thank you also for the use of Air Force Two and the 70 Secret Service personnel who tagged along to be sure we were safe and cared for at all times. By the way, if you happen to be visiting the Costa del Sol, I highly recommend the Buenaventura Plaza restaurant in Marbella; great lobster with rice and oysters!
I'm ashamed to admit the lobsters we ate in Martha's Vineyard were not quite as tasty, but what can you do if you're not in Europe, you have to just grin and bear it?
Air Force Two (which costs $11,351 per hour to operate according to Government Accounting Office reports) only used 47,500 gallons of jet fuel for this trip and carbon emissions were a mere 1,031 tons of CO2. These are only rough estimates, but they are close. That's quite a carbon footprint as my good friend Al Gore would say, so we must ask the American citizens to drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars and drive less too, so we can lessen our combined carbon footprint. I know times are hard and millions of you are struggling to put food on the table and trying to make ends meet. So I do appreciate your sacrifices and do hope you find work soon.
I was really exhausted after Barack took our family on a luxury vacation in Maine a few weeks ago. I just had to get away for a few days.
Cordially, Michelle (Moochelle) Obama
P.S. Thank you as well for the $2 BILLION dollar trip to India from which we just returned!
P.SS. Thank you, too, for that vacation trip to Martha's Vineyard; it was fabulous. And thanks for that second smaller jet that took our dog Bo to Martha's Vineyard so we and the children could have him with us while we were away from the White House for eleven days. After all, we couldn't take him on Air Force One because he might pee on some wires or something.
P.SSS. Oh, I almost forgot to say thanks also for our two-week trip to Hawaii at Christmas. That 7,000 square foot house was great!
P.SSSS I don't want to forget my great ski trip to Vail this winter and now the girls and I are in Africa with my mom.
All this while Barack golfs and campaigns to keep my trips coming for the next 4 years!
Love Ya! Remember, we all have to share the pain of these economic times equally!
Oh, I almost forgot thank you also for our daughter's trip to Mexico with 12 of her close friends and secret service during this spring break.
Love to -redistribute- share- the wealth.
First Lady’s Spanish Vacation 'Cost Taxpayers $500,000'
First Lady Michelle Obama’s 2010 Spanish vacation cost U.S. taxpayers nearly half a million dollars, the right-leaning Judicial Watch claimed on Thursday.
The total cost was $467,585, according to the group’s president Tom Fitton, who says it took “two years and a lawsuit” to get the information.
“It is hypocritical for President Obama to fire GSA officials for wasteful conference spending, while his family went on a luxury vacation in the Costa del Sol Spain that cost taxpayers nearly half a million dollars,” Fitton said referring to the scandal surrounding the General Services Administration’s lavish training conference in Las Vegas.
Obama and her then-nine-year-old younger daughter, Sasha, went on the trip to Andalusia and Majorca “with two friends and four of their daughters, as well as a couple of aides and a couple of advance staff members,” the New York Times reported at the time. The vacation included a meeting with King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.
Obama and the other family paid for their own hotel bills, but Judicial Watch said the flight costs came to $199,323.75. “The 15- member flight crew stayed at Tryp Guadalmar, a nearby motel. Lodging cost was $10,290.60 and car rental cost was $2,633.50. Food cost was $876.30, including $57.68 for four bottles of maple syrup and a package of pancake mix,” the group claimed.
“Secret Service records meanwhile, show that the costs to the agency for the vacation were $254,461.20. This total includes $26,670.61 for a chauffeur tour of Costa del Sol and $50,078.78 for a travel planning company SET P&V, S.L. [George Soros is 50 percent owner of the travel company.] Taxpayers also paid the bill for separate lodging for a dog and its handler.”
Fitton said, “The American people can ill afford to keep sending the First Family on vacations around the globe. There needs to be greater sensitivity to the costs borne by taxpayers for these personal trips.”

Michelle Obama's Trips Cost Taxpayers $1 Million
Thursday, 19 Jul 2012 01:28 PM By Patrick Hobin
First lady Michelle Obama's ski trip to Aspen, Colorado on President's Day weekend with her two daughters cost taxpayers at least $83,182.99, Judicial Watch reported, part of almost $1 million of taxpayer money that Mrs. Obama has spent on three trips alone.
The cost for the trip, which FoxNews.com said was the 16th vacation in three years taken by the Obama family, tallies Secret Service protection and accommodations, flights, rental cars and food, according to Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and fights government corruption. "No wonder we had to file a lawsuit in federal court and wait six months to get basic information on Michelle Obama's luxury Aspen vacation," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "The costs of the Obama family ski weekend are staggering. These high-priced luxury vacations, and the lack of transparency about them, are beginning to seem like an abuse of office." A trip to Spain in 2010 by Michelle Obama, family, and staff cost taxpayers $467,585 and a trip by the First Lady and family to South Africa and Botswana last year cost $424,142 for the flight and crew alone, according to Judicial Watch.
